A lot of the code can be pulled, as we use none of the shopping cart functionality. We use probably only about 25 of the actual OSCommerce Code. SolutionClean it up, and take out the stuff the does not need to be there so it loads faster.We have web crawling software that goes to various online pharmacies, and pulls, links, descriptions, etc from various websites. It outputs the files in various formats including .cvs and can also load the information directly into the database. We need a data loader built. This needs to be a much more robust data loader then the present contributions on OSC, though those would be a good starting point. As new products come in new categories need to be created, and the new products and descriptions. Since we are dealing with direct data off of websites, there are other challenges as well. Be aware that each .cvs file will have thousands of records. I do not care what kind of an interface the data loader has. It can be command line for all I care. I know with that many records PHP has some issues. There can be up to 26 files per pharmacy. Being able to load multiple files at once would be desirable. Even the ability to que the files would be nice. If The categories do not exists, then create them.
